Killing Words

Spain 2003

No one knows what's truly behind the genial facade of Ramon (Dario Grandinetti), a college instructor who's so meticulous, nothing in his world seems out of order. And yet, his basement is a dark place of chaos, one in which he's forced an unwitting guest named Laura (Goya Toledo) to stay and play a deadly game. The stakes are high: If she wins, she walks; if she loses, her life is on the line. Laura hopes she can hold her own.
8/10

Here's an interesting film from Spain. The plot was very realistically unique and the dialog was very impressive. A lot of cat and mousing accompanied with great acting and a pendulum of plot twists that were not over the top and hard to believe but actually intelligent and tactical. I can appreciate a film that offers up irony in vengeance. I respected and valued the anti-hero's ability to out smart everyone. With that being said. Check it out, you'll like it.
