Let the Right One In

Sweden 2008

Twelve-year-old Oskar (Kåre Hedebrant), the constant target of bullies, spends his time plotting revenge and collecting news items about the grisly murders plaguing his town. Things change for Oskar when he meets new girl Eli (Lina Leandersson), a misfit vampire who steals his heart. As a serial killer continues to prey on teen boys in the small village outside Stockholm, Sweden, Eli helps Oskar find the courage to stand up to his tormenters.

9.9/10

As far as vampire films go and even stories regarding vampires this is by far the best of them. It will knock you on your buttocks. This is a poignant masterpiece of all that which is considered ground breaking and inventive heartfelt cinema. The film is based on a 12 year old boy who is frequently bullied by a trio of dick heads, that you WILL love to hate. Oskar has no friends. One day he meets a weird 12 year olf girl named, Eli. Over time they develop a fondness of each other and Eli reveals to Oskar that she's a vampire. Poop hits the fan in a subtle build of supernatural horror with a hint of romance and the coolest ending of a film I've seen in awhile.
